Firstly, have you got your cabinet (the big amp that sits under the head)

secondly - Did you buy it new or used? If you've bought it used then you might need to change the tubes as they may be broken

Thirdly - GIVE THE TUBES TIME TO WARM UP - just wait for a while with it all turned on for the tubes to get started

Hope that helped! Although my experience is just helping at gigs that's usually the most common problems

Alrighty, this is what I do (with my 10W amp and my spaghetti of cables):
1) Is the volume on
2) Is the volume on the guitar on
3) Is the volume on the pedal on
4) Is the pedal plugged into the electricitynet... thingy
5) Are all cables plugged in CORRECTLY (follow them with your hands)
6) Is the amp on?
7) Put on all effect buttons at a time, since when I push Distortion, it gives the volume a major boost, and when I push the Distortion on my amp... well, that makes a lotta nice.
Other than that... google

I used to have the 50 watt version.

turn the power on, keep the stand by on, leave it for 5 mins, look and make sure all the tubes are glowing, turn the standby off(on or off cant remember but whatever lets sound through) pull the volume up to about 3 and make sure the gain is up to about 4-5. Also did you correctly match the impedance of your amp and cab?

Turns out, when you switch the Standby to "On" it actually means the standby is off. And vice-versa
