im looking to get started to write some songs ive been working on , ive looked into The steves lo9w low buget thing but , want somew thing a bit better (Y)

so Steve or anyone else if you could answer this it would be great (Y)

ok fist off im looking to record with a really low buget , as im getting a Bugera soon then a DBZ hopefully so im limiting myself to about ????200GBP could go slightly over,

how are these for starting off

http://www.gear4music.com/Recording-and-Co...ce-with-Mic/A76

or am i better getting

http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/3490...kerpre-usb.html

with a couple of mics?

when my band starts to record demos ill be thinking of using this so whats your verdicts

Edit : i know SM57's are the ''standard, Used everywhere mics'' but ill need to go for a cheaper option maybe 2 mikes for the time being for the time being just to record guitar demos

You can record your own material on a budget of ????25. All you need is an imic, it has an input for a guitar lead and it fits into a usb port, then open up some recording software (audacity and reaper are free) and just record. Use any pedals you have to add distortion and what not, if not just get a Line 6 Pod. That is recording on a tiny budget rather than spending loads on mics and expensive software.

ah, i did say i wanted it to record for myself to write my own stuff, this was ment by riffs and guitar parts for future band songs .... but when my band has a full line up and when we will want are ready to record a demo, it will be a lot cheaper to record on one of these than goin to a studio, and that IMac only has one input for guitar im guessing , a drum kit will need more than one mic for recording im guessing , one for each drum ... the guitars usally (from what i found out) are better of having two mics in phase, and im guessing its same with the Bass

I don't know anything about recording, but the history of bands can help with this thumbsup.gif
For example: how Trivium recorded their first stuff in the garage 'n' such.

You wanted cheap and I gave you cheap thumbsup.gif you can use the imic to record all the guitar and bass parts, just record twice and pan differently, same with the bass. Drums are the bitch, you gotta get mics for them haha
V-Man
For guitars and vocals just need a USB mic, Line 6 GearBox, etc. For recording, just get the lite version of Ableton 7 or higher. You can't get much cheaper than that, and it sounds amazing.

For drums, not sure of any budget way to record those as you usually want to mic each element vs. using one omni-directional piece.

Hope that helps.

Not for me mate... NOT for me, haha xD
I hate complicated programs... But I love programs that start out easy, and you can put an "advanced" thing on when you feel like it.

Yeah...
Well, followed (the next "word" is e-translated, so I don't know if it's correct) data processing management last year (failed... stupid fysica... who cares about curves in electricity!?), and we had C# there (some probably know that program), and boy, did it take long 'till I was able to work with it properly! Managed to get a ~65% on my final exam, which was one of the best.
Still, failed the year, so gonna do Marketing'ish.

But ok, where's Stevie when you need him.
And I want his guitarskills!
(and paintskills xD)
