I read somewhere that the fret wire is installed prior to paint so that the end of the fret wire will be sealed from moisture so that they wont get forced out of thier slots. Also you're not suppose to level frets or recrown them before painting because the residue can get into the wood. Hope that helps you to better understand the shot.
BTW nice shots guys. I love the Z's on the 12th Fret.
