What's up with the log books? Dean, are there any more that aren't scanned? Any chance of new scans?

The honorable wstoll has been putting together a pretty good account of those books...
It would be great to piece together the missing pages.. half pages.. etc.

I have all the tags and 80% of the serials in excel. Most of 82-83 is cropped off the sides. Should have the rest of it done pretty soon.

There are approx. 60 or 61 duplicate Tag#s. I have verified they are different Guitars so it isn't duplicate
page pictures...although there are a few of those. I have also been combining the Sales data with the Tag/build
data, as well as adding list prices and uplift prices for everything I can find.
I also added a column to flag original owners, as we have a few of those too!

Dean, your Tag# is part of the missing pages.

During my little break here - I cleaned out an old storage locker.
There were many Dean things from the original days of Dean Guitars.
Am talking everything from original artwork to UPS shipping logs.
There is even a Dean Guitar mirror (someone made if for me years ago) that lights up...has to be about 3 1/2' to 4' tall.
Am thinking of putting some of this on eBay.
Still have boxes to go thru...however, not sure I will have much free time with the launch of DBZ Guitars.

I saw this too. Tag's 1001-1066 are dupes. What do you make of the tags with the 'A' after them? 'F/2'?

Maybe a factory repair of the neck? They could have stamped the old serial on the new neck.

They are duplicated Tag#'s but they are not duplicate Guitar listings. Different Guitars and SN#'s.
F/2 is a Factory Second
Lettered Headstock is signed under the clearcoat
There are references to Cadillac Custom style......I assume that is Multi-ply binding on a geet that didn't have it
normally
Reverse Headstock is "Shrimpfork"

Dean, do you have the log books? I'm trying to get as much history together as I can so everyone can
get all the info possible on their Vintage Deans.

I still have an original framed "Girl in the Water" framed photo Dean gave me way back in 82.
It's not a poster, it's a photograph!
The last I heard, it's the only surviving one.

Are there any logbooks pre 1980? I would love to see what my 78 was before it was refinished. I took it apart to change te pickups a couple days ago and sure enough it has a nice thick maple top on it. Im not about to start sanding to see what the flame looks like though.

I can tell you exactly why but you probably don't want to hear the answer.
Your 80 V has a series III headstock for the same reason my 82 ML has a maple neck.
