Just wondered what the neck profile of DBZ guitars compares to?

My two favourite guitars are my G&L Invader and my Ibanez RGT320Q (which has a slightly fatter neck than the JEM series - don't like them as much).

I'm particularly lusting after a Cavallo - don't want EMG's, need something a bit more versatile.

Thanks folks.

Yeah and what about the Boleros? What thickness and such is the neck? (If you speak in Gibson language i will understand)

I won't!

Never got on with Gibson's.

So multilingual replies would be great.

i dont know how fat they are, (i believe a camparison to a razorback neck was mentioned in a thread way back though. i think they said it was slightly fatter), but i know its supposed to be a slight V to C neck profile.

as for the boleros, im clueless to the neck on those. a couple forum members here have one though. i think chris is one of them.

hope this helps. thumbsup.gif

The Bolero is more of C/D neck. I will have to double check when I get home. Not sure how it compares to the Gibson as I have never had any desire to pick one up. To me it's a pretty comfortable neck. Bar chords are a bit easier on this guitar for me and less stress on the thumb.

I have an RGT3120 which is the same guitar as your RGT320Q, same "Ultra" neck. My Venom neck is similar to the Ultra neck, just with a mild V profile. Same thickness, same width.

Gorgeous guitar thumbsup.gif Are you talking about an ibanez super wizard neck or was the ultra the predecessor to the super wizard design?

Oh cool, I was mainly wondering about thickness. Just to clear up lol in 'Gibson lingo' if the neck is '50s, it means it's a thick neck and if it's '60s, then it's thin. That's what i'm used to anyways. I prefer thicker necks myself. Cheers for the info so far, I live in Australia and so am waiting for them to hit the country but so far i only know of one dealer which is about 1300 miles from where i live. :(

The Wizard was the original - Super Thin
The Wizard II neck - A little thicker
The Ultra is one of the latest and found on the Prestige Neck-Thrus - Even a little thicker, more rounded

The newer Ibanez Prestige RG bolt-ons even have a different neck, wider than a Wizard or Wizard II and about the thicknes of a Wizard II.

Sweet thumbsup.gif I'm a big fan of the ibanez style necks as my hands are average size at best tongue.gif

I'm certainly very happy with the neck (and nearly everything else) on my RGT320Q.

So that's really useful, thanks.
