Hello to all,

Came across this forum while researching a DBZ guitar listed on Craig's List.
It appears to be a cherry burst Imperial, probably import from price wanted.
One thing I noticed is that the jack is not recessed in the body top but is mounted
on the bottom side. Also, the body is thicker than the 5/8" Dean describes. (looks about 1" thick)
Is this a 2009 model vs. 2010?
Any info on above would be appreciated.

Gotta say thats alittle odd. I would ask for a serial number but it appears to be a very early imperial.

Got my answer from Dean himself.....great guy.

The guitar is a Chinese prototype that "was made all wrong". He suspects they probably donated it to the Boy Scout auction the seller said he won it at.
Anyway, I made a deal on it and like I told Dean, if this was made all wrong, I can't imagine what a made right Imperial plays and sounds like!
I'm stoked to have it! A prototype! Who knew?

I was sitting there looking at the pics thinking to myself that it looked quite thick. Then I continues reading your post. I would say if you could pick it up on the cheap it may be worth something down the road.

I just found it on Craigslist. I don't think I could give 475 for it. Maybe if it was in the 200$ range it may be worth it, selling point of Imperial is the thinness.

Regardless of value down the road, I just couldn't pass up adding it to the collection.
When you suffer from G.A.S. (guitar aquisition syndrome!) as bad as I do, somotimes you just can't help yourself. I hear there is a rehab center in Nashville......I wonder if they'll let me bring my guitars!

Congrats on the new buy, you will have a one of a kind. I know what you mean about having GAS. I had mine last month. This month I have a case of AAS. (Amp aquis syn). Just picked up a little egnater rebel 20 that I cannot wait to arrive.

Went to see the doctor. He said there were two known cures.....
Divorce and Unemployement!
Divorce you have a 50% survival rate!
Unemployment ....survival rate varies, usually not too good though.
Treatment center in Nashville does not have a good track record.... most patients
relapse within a few months.

Too bad I have one cure active, all the time, being unemployed xD (only work when they text-message me, which is like... once in a month or less >.<)

haha yeah i know that one, but if your spending your own money on someting you enjoy, and are still able to live comfterably, then why not? i mean ive got 7 guitars and the bop on the way, but i can still afford all the things i need

Yeah, guitars 'n' "free time" stuff are things I pay for myself, but food, electricity, water, ... are all coming from "above" me xD

plus playing guitar as a hobby is better than some imo, its a creative outlet like painting and allows for one to express themselves. plus its proven that artists, musicians etc. typically have higher mental capacities. try usng that one on your parents next time they go aginst it. i mean g.a.s. is just a nice little bonus that comes with the territory
